Carla Rivera Blanco

Carla has a bachelor’s degree in philosophy, politics, and economics (PPE) from Pompeu Fabra University (UPF) and a master’s in sociology and social anthropology from the Central European University (CEU). She is a member of the Anthropology of Urban Conflict Observatory (OACU) and the Research Group on Exclusion and Social Control (GRECS) at the University of Barcelona (UB). She is also a member of the Quaderns editorial board, the scientific journal of the Catalan Institute of Anthropology (ICA), and she currently works at Observatori DESC (Economic, Social, and Cultural Rights Observatory). In Barcelona, she belongs to the Housing Union of Sant Andreu. Her research interest lies in how people experience the loss of “domestic references” in increasingly globalized urban settings.
